Make sure to remove the plug and clean the plastic body and lid (DO NOT clean the generator).

The H2Renew X1 is shipped with water in it to prevent the membrane and electrolysis components from drying out. You’ll see there is a plug holding this moisture in, which you need to remove. Make sure you always keep the electrode plate wet by keeping a small amount of water in the bottle. It is a good idea to keep the plug, in case you ever want to travel with just the generator base, to be used with disposable water bottles on the go. In that scenario you can put a small amount of water covering the electrode plates and then put the plug in to seal it.

It is best to use filtered, distilled, or Reverse Osmosis (RO) water. An RO system or Zerowater filter is optimal to not only put the cleanest water in your body but also keep your bottle clean and functioning at optimal performance long-term. Tap water can be used if you don't have access to cleaner water, but try to avoid hard or mineralized water, as this can lead to a buildup of scaling on the electrolysis plates.

In the case of scaling, a solution of 1 part vinegar or lemon juice and 3 parts warm water can be put in the bottle and left to soak overnight, then thoroughly rinsed to remove any scaling. The bottle also has an effective self-cleaning mode, which can reduce the need for more thorough cleanings. NEVER use soap on the inside of the base of the bottle. The glass portion can easily be removed from the base to be cleaned with soap and water.

When you long press the power button the polarity of the electrodes reverses and instead of expelling the ozone out of the exhaust port at the bottom it is infused into the water. 3. Wait for the self-cleaning cycle to complete (the bottle will turn off and the light will go out). Pour the water out and rinse with clean water. Repeat once per week.
